There's only little to no reason to keep using the Thunder for end-game use - although the Thunder's suit ability is really ideal, better ruggedness is the way to go, so turn to the higher-tier armors.
Choosing between buying the Perseus or the Knight is not even a question to ask. That's because the Perseus is one of the three end-game armor sets that can be bought solely with gold (the others are Cygni and Dec.24). It's a far more economical choice when you buy the Perseus, and as for the Knight, let's say its a "jack of all trades" type of armor like the R.O.M.E. and X-Field.
The Knight is something that you can aim for but not at this point in time. Buy it when you're capable enough of spending the time boss-farming, just like how you would go for the mithril weapons.
Thank you for your reply! I dont like Xfield bcs the design is kinda normal I guess, and its more of a defensive armor, so later on I will aim for the knight helm. So here are my thoughts: Buying full Perseus -> lvl 8 minigun -> Jin Jingle -> Full Knight. Is this a smart way improve in the game or not? Its my plan right now ;) maybe its kinda dumb hehe
Depends on you if you choose to upgrade your weapon to level 8, or purchase each piece of the Perseus Armor, and etc. As long as you can muster the patience to boss grind you're good as gold and you'll be able to buy what you need in no time.
I didn't really put the completion of my Knight Armor first, but since I was all over grinding bosses everyday I earned a lot of mithril faster than usual.
My own order of the top-tier items that I have bought:
If you mean "survive" by just staying alive in general, yes, but that's only if you know how to counter each of the boss attacks, and have a setup that can grant you 9+ speed (you need a backpack with +1 or +2 SPD and a weapon with no speed penalty in that regard), cause speed is the most important factor in being able to outrun the boss.
You got that in the bag? Good. But unless you have a M-Z7B2, defeating Xmas Surprise is going to take a really long time. As much as I admire the M-27B1 being the most versatile gold-only weapon for PvE, it can't yield the same results as the M-Z7B2. You're just gonna have to hope for the best that at least one teammate of yours has an M-Z7B2, or if you really want to beat Xmas Surprise on your own, go for a meta approach - bring a Hyper Clip or more into use.
The completion of my Knight Armor was the turning point for me in beating Xmas Surprise; I could manage with just the M-27B1 and I already knew how to counter all of the boss attacks.
The problem is that without thunder I dpnt have the double power combo with hiper clip :( Now Im starting to think that Perseus was not a good idea. By the way, my machine gun has speed penalty wich means, acording to your info, that I wont be able to survive the boss for long... I will get destroyed unless my weapon doesnt have speed penalty, and upgrading a rifle to max is ridiculously expensive for me, since Im already maxing the machine gun. Man Im screwed haha
I strongly advise to not use the Thunder combo on Xmas Surprise, considering your lack of experience. No offense. If you think Perseus was not a good idea then think again - you've underestimated the armor's potential as a gold-only armor set. I won't write a really long comment explaining to you how effective the Perseus is and how it's supposed to be used, so just check the page for the Perseus Armor for total insight.
It's common logic that you don't try to outrun the boss while wielding a machinegun. That's why you carry another weapon that has no speed penalty. In this case you equip a laser gun, light sword, or assault rifle for shooting and/or running away from the boss. You don't necessarily have to upgrade a laser gun or assault rifle for use against the boss, just keep them in your inventory for mobility, because by paper machine guns have the highest DPS figures in the game and they're pretty much the only guns you should use to deal damage.
Tonelo wrote: Im farming for full Perseus bcs it looks badass and I think bosses like serpent wont scare me anymore. Do you think I can survive Xmas Surprise with Perseus?
Extremely late for a response here, but I believe most armors can defeat the X-mas boss, Strike armor and higher. From my experience, I've been playing this game for such a long time that I started to compare armors and weapons to bosses and players, respectively. When you are asking if you could "survive" X-mas Suprise, I'm assuming you don't exactly care about what type of method you use to defeat the boss. Hence, using the X-mass boss glitch, I was able to defeat the boss with an armor as low as Strike. Though this may be difficult and you must pay attention to the bosses rocket projectiles and laser attacks. Once you manage to master this, the boss is extremely easy to defeat. I recommend using a mini-gun of any sort since the DPS is much higher ratio than any other weapons in the game.
If you are unsure what the "glitch" is, I would be more than happy to show you...
Meh I realized than xmas surprise sucks... It takes alot of time to beat, even with the best weapon in game, it doensnt give much gold... doesnt give much mithril... Its hard until u master your dodging skills...
What I do everyday for mithril is a full pyramid from mantis to serpent. Is it a good strategy or you think I should only farm until Siegfried and then repeat? By the way, I believe that the more players that join and play with you, the more mithril everyone recieves, am I right or not?
@Tonelo You've misunderstood how the amount of gold given out varies each time you beat a boss. I'm not a technical wizard on these types of things so I highly suggest that you consult Undead.exe on this.
I'm going to be straightforward - if you lack the patience to beat Xmas Surprise then don't even bother fighting it in the first place.
That's not how Mithril drop rates exactly work. The amount does not increase depending on the number of players. Mithril drop count is somewhat sequential: considering how drop rates reset every 24 hours (the time zone is set to Chicago), the amount as I said is sequential, from the highest number to the lowest.
For example: the lowest amount of mithril dropped from Siegfried is 2, while the highest is 4. Let's say you've managed to beat Siegfried on the first day and you get mithril. Since you beat him on the first day you'll get the maximum amount of mithril, which is 4. Then when the drop rates reset the next day, if you beat him and get mithril the value would be down to 3 mithril, and then the next it's down to 2 mithril, and then the next day it's back on 4 mithril again.
You need to have patience and some sort of perseverance if you're really eager to get the mithril from all of the bosses. Don't forget that you can get mithril from daily login bonuses too.
It's your choice. All I'm just gonna be saying is that you're a bit too late to the party - everyone in SW:AI nowadays has reserved to a flurry of end-game weapon and armor sets. I occasionally muck around with the Atom + Reflection combo in PvP but 95% of the time I use the full Knight armor set with Jin.Jingle.
RPGs are completely useless in PvP - even if you use Cygni. They dish out damage very slowly, so I advise that you refrain from using them at all. Truth be told, the Knight and R.O.M.E. are the higher-up armor sets that you should be going for instead.
I'm not quite sure what "RPG bazooka" you are referring to, but if I've seen the rocket launchers itself be used plenty of times in PvP effectively. Though I'm not recommending this, by using the Cygni armor and the Black Stars (Shoots out 3 rocket projectiles), you can challenge other players well enough to kill high tier armors. But like I said previous, it only would take the atom a single sniper shot to eliminate such threat
I think I've progressed a lot over the time when I started (summertime). I am already 200,000 exp away from Rank 9. Also, Thunder's health is starting to wear me down, so I'm thinking of getting Knight. The problem is that Knight Head costs 180 Mithril and I'm saving up or Jin Jingle, so what is a good alternate helmet to Knight Helmet?
@Tonelo I believe this question has been answered already in the past, but just to give a piece of my mind he has the option to buy the Jin.Jingle straight away (which only costs 140 mithril) or go for the Knight head. The Jin.Jingle is arguably the most versatile backpack in Alien Invasion and there's no reason why to not get it in the first place.
Also, the comment's only been around since last September and it's currently February so it's not really an old one. So no necroposting case for that matter.
Once you get max rank and all of the items, will you reset again? Also, I was wondering what server do you play on. I'm pretty sure you play in the American server (same server as me) however I just wanna make sure. I'm asking about the server because if I ever manage to see you on a server, I can assure it's you.
I will most likely not reset again. I've done it twice already, and this will be my final time. I want to expect new game updates with a whole bunch of mithril and gold waiting, so I can get whatever new equipment is released.
And yes, I play on the "American" server, though it really is an international server (EU, NA, SA, AF).
Also, I was somehow able to get past this game and have a good win to death ratio. It's been over a year since I played, however I think that I saw a tutorial with the controls so that I could slay this game.
Hey, KingShooter I had an idea for a video you could do. You think you may create a video of a player farming for void material (Star Warfare 2) for days in which the player has not got the last material they need (Module) to upgrade the void in which when they get the material they either resolve the void on accident, get banned, their account gets leaked, or it crashes and loses the module.
OR, you could create a video about how Freyr lacks in customer support for a noob who bought items & didn't receive them. The noob then emails freyr (I could send email from Freyr's account only to get a auto-reply. Then few days later the noob receives a message saying "(Item) sent to account, plz login to get. Regards," Then after the noob gets a powerful Void or Weapon in which they become OverPowered and players report the (No Longer) Noob. Then after a day the Noob logs in to find that they were banned and they could (or not) rage. The noob procedes to email freyr that he was wrongfully banned, Freyr then replies, sending that they checked the account and it said they H(@)cked mithril or void material, the same amount they had purchased. The noob tells Freyr he wants a refund or his account unbanned. Freyr then sends a link to get "Unbanned" in which he clicks it happy he's getting unbanned, only to see that the link sends him to a image of the troll face. (Sorry I'm boring as well, this is all i could come up with.)
I will be online from 4 PM - 12 AM (my local time). It is a rare instance that I would be staying up beyond that time just to meet up with you, but I will manage.
And, just a heads-up: create a mock match before having the actual, final match. I would have to check on any possible lag spikes that could arise by playing a mock match with you. Then, if I feel that I have good VPN connection, I will be able to be in the recording session with you.
I'm definitely looking forward to playing with you. One thing is - we will have troubles with activity, due to our time zone differences. Assuming that you reside in the North American area, mind telling me what time are you active?
Also, once you say yours I'll say mine. Will add the times I am on the Wiki Chat as well.
I'm in Europe unfortunately, in the central time zone (CET; most cities use it, Berlin, Rome, Paris, Vienna, etc.) This makes it complicated if you are in North America, as your afternoon times (say, 7 PM, when I assume you have free time) is 2 AM for me.
I am usually active on weekends, say, 6 to 9 PM my timezone.
